In October 2022, the much-anticipated Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City officially opened for business.
The hotel’s crowning jewel?
It’s a stunning elevated pool that sits atop the sixth-floor terrace boasting amazing views of the city’s surrounding mountains.
Pool’s Fabrication
Natare was contracted in early 2020 to design and fabricate an outdoor elevated stainless steel pool.
The 72’ by 18’ pool was fabricated within our Indianapolis, Indiana facility before it was separated and shipped in four (4) sections.
Once on-site, each section was carefully craned into place and then intricately welded together to ensure a watertight fit.
When the welding was completed, the pool was filled with water and hydrostatically tested for any leaks and drips. After passing the test, tile was then installed along the pool floor, walls, and wedding cake stairs.
For a personal touch, the customized polymer GPM grating around the pool’s perimeter features the hotel’s name and logo.
Natare Hosts MPG for Pool Tour
In October 2023, the Master Pools Guild (MPG) hosted their annual conference in Salt Lake City. As a Preferred Equipment Provider for the MPG, Natare gave a presentation on the company and stainless steel pools before taking 50 pool builders on a tour of the rooftop pool.
Once on-site, President/CEO Troy Yoder and Sales Manager Joshua Albertson were able to talk one-on-one with the guests and answer any questions they had. Natare was accompanied by the Hyatt Regency’s engineer who joined in on the conversations to provide additional insight on the pool project.
During the first year of operation, hotel management closed the pool during the winter months. After receiving feedback from their valued guests, the hotel has decided to keep the pool open year-round.

Solutions Used for Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City
AWS Pool System: This system is ideal for elevated and rooftop pool projects due to its quick assembly and adaptability.
Stainless Steel Pool Gutters: Natare pool gutter systems are manufactured to be smooth and level with the pool perimeter and offer continuous surface skimming, which cannot be achieved with traditional skimmers or pool gutters. The type of gutters used on the Salt Lake City pool is our Deck Level (Roll Out) system.
GPM Polymer Grating: Our GPM grating systems come in two standard colors (white and black) but are also available in custom colors. This particular pool was customized with medium gray grating that complements the decking surrounding the pool. In addition to the color, some sections were engraved with the hotel’s name and logo.
