Richard A. Carlucci Recreation & Aquatic Center
Plainfield, Indiana, USA
Project Overview
In the summer of 2024, the Splash Island Indoor Aquatic Center at the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation & Aquatic Center in Plainfield, Indiana underwent a small transformation as part of a scheduled essential maintenance closure. This 7,500 sq. ft. aquatic facility—known for its family-friendly features like a lazy river, three lap lanes, zero-depth entry kiddie pool with water features, a two-story water slide, and an in-pool spa—needed to be ready for a timely reopening.
Natare was brought in to tackle the pool resurfacing portion of the project. Our scope of work included:
- Furnishing and installing over 9,000 square feet of our Natatec® PVC pool lining system where we navigated numerous curves and stairs with precise craftsmanship
- Installing new main drain covers
All work was completed on a tight schedule within a one-month closure, ensuring the facility was ready for swim lessons, water walking, lap swimming, and recreational use right on time.
The maintenance closure also included updates to the HVAC system, pool mechanical systems, and fresh paint, making this a well-rounded upgrade to the entire aquatic environment.
An On-Site Look
Because of the project’s location in the Indianapolis area, members of our Natare Sales team had the unique opportunity to visit the site during installation. Walking the pool in real time and seeing the process firsthand provided invaluable insight and connection to our work—a rare treat!
With a sleek new surface and behind-the-scenes upgrades, refreshed Splash Island Indoor Aquatic Center reopened ready to serve its community with a safe, functional, and visually stunning aquatic experience.
