Natare Goes to Washington

Natare Corporation News, Natare Projects

Natare will supply a custom recirculation and gutter system for the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Natare Corporation was recently chosen to design, manufacture and install a custom stainless steel perimeter recirculation and gutter system for the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C.

The original reflecting pool was completed in 1930, and until now, has always featured still water. This will be the first time the pool has had a recirculation system.

Renovations to the memorial are already underway, including reconstruction of the pathways surrounding the pool, and redirection of the pool’s water from the Tidal Basin rather than D.C. city water, according to National Park Service plans.

The National Capital Planning Commission approved the project in April 2010. It will be funded by federal stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
